Vitamin B1 is vital for converting food into energy. Vitamin B-1, or thiamin, along with other B vitamins, is primarily involved in energy production in the body, especially in the brain. Its principle use is to prevent deficiency (especially in diabetes, Crohn’s disease, multiple sclerosis and other neurological diseases) and help maintain proper mental function, especially in the elderly.
